Shopify Knowledge Base, and a FAQ on your store
Shopify's Knowledge Base app gives AI shopping agents facts and FAQs about your store, away from your store. Actually Asked puts a FAQ on your store's own pages, for shoppers who are already there. They do different jobs, and work side by side.
Side by side
Knowledge Base and Actually Asked.
| Topic | Knowledge Base | Actually Asked |
|---|---|---|
| Who reads the answers | AI shopping agents, away from your store. | Shoppers on your product pages and your FAQ page. |
| On your storefront | No. Shopify says its FAQs aren't displayed on your storefront. | Yes, as a block in your theme, in its fonts and colours. |
| Where questions come from | A log of the questions AI agents were asked, with the top unanswered ones. | The questions shoppers ask on your store. The ones asked most join your FAQ. |

Use both.
Knowledge Base shapes what AI agents say about your store elsewhere. Actually Asked answers shoppers on your own pages and tells you every Monday what they couldn't find there. A question your pages couldn't answer is worth answering in both.
What your site gets.
-
Two lines to install
Paste a div and a script, or add the block in your Shopify theme editor.
-
Real HTML
Plain questions and answers in your page's HTML, with FAQ structured data, so search engines read every entry. On Shopify they're in the page before any script runs.
-
Your colours, your radius
Pick a look, then change the colours, corners and spacing in the widget editor. The preview updates as you type.
-
Groups and page rules
Group entries under Shipping, Returns and Sizing. Show different entries on different pages with URL rules.
