Sitemap validator

Paste your site's address, or your sitemap's. We find the sitemap, read up to 10 of its files, and check them against the sitemaps protocol. Free, no account.

We open the first 20 pages it lists, and only those your robots.txt allows.

What we check

  1. That robots.txt names the sitemap, so crawlers find it without guessing.
  2. That each file is XML in the sitemaps format, with at most 50,000 addresses. Files over 10 MB and compressed (.gz) ones are marked for you to check another way.
  3. That every address is a full one on your site, and none is listed twice.
  4. That last-modified dates are in W3C format and none is in the future.
  5. That the pages it lists load directly, without a redirect or an error.

Answer your own visitors from the same pages

Actually Asked adds a FAQ section to your site where visitors ask in their own words. It answers them from your pages, adds the questions they ask most to the FAQ on its own, and shows you what they asked that your pages don't answer.
